Nathan was working at Main Event and his cousin Kenzie visited him. She was playing the claw game and she wasn’t getting it, so he just opened the machine with his key and got out what she was trying to win. It really made her day.

What story will you always share about Nathan?
We were in Independence Hall in Philadelphia and a park ranger asked if anyone knew the preamble of the Declaration of Independence. Nathan raised his hand and quoted it word for word and when he finished the whole crowd clapped and cheered. Proud parent moment.

I will never forget all the nights we spent in my barn. The laughter, the cookouts, and the undeniable fact: Nathan remained the center of attention.

Something you’ve done that most can’t say?
I ran an Ultra Marathon! 24 hours of running for Curbside Ministries. No training, and walking like a stiff cowboy a few days after, but super fun! Just go for it, nothing like the 2 am shift and Jesus music!

What story will you always share about Nathan?
Some of my favorite Nathan stories take place in the most random spots. DQ, tennis courts, the barn, or a Walmart run. This goes to show how he truly brought the fun everywhere he went. I loved celebrating him; for his birthday we went to play paintball, but per his request he wanted us wearing Hawaiian to celebrate.
